Reasons Health Medication Policy

At Reasons Health, we prioritize patient well-being and responsibility in prescribing practices. We do not provide or prescribe medications that may contribute to addiction, such as benzodiazepines, opioids, opiates, narcotics, narcotic-like medications.

Here are some of the key reasons:

  1. Addiction Risk: Many of these medications have a high potential for dependency, even when prescribed responsibly. Once dependence develops, it can be difficult and harmful to overcome.
  2. Misuse Potential: These substances are often sought after for non-medical use, leading to a higher likelihood of diversion, abuse, and related harm.
  3. Safer Alternatives: In many cases, there are safer and equally effective alternatives available that pose fewer risks to the patient.
  4. Long-Term Health Considerations: Some of these medications can have significant negative effects on physical and mental health when used over extended periods.

By avoiding these medications, Reasons Health aims to promote safe, evidence-based care while reducing the risk of harm associated with addiction-prone or highly controlled substances. Instead, our  approach focuses on empowering patients with other effective treatments.
