Addiction Crisis

Reasons Health’s response to the national addiction crisis

At Reasons Health, we prioritize patient well-being and responsibility in prescribing practices. We do not provide or prescribe medications that may contribute to addiction, such as benzodiazepines, opioids, opiates, narcotics, narcotic-like medications.
Here are some of the key reasons:

  1. Addiction Risk: Many of these medications have a high potential for dependency, even when prescribed responsibly. Once dependence develops, it can be difficult and harmful to overcome.
  2. Misuse Potential: These substances are often sought after for non-medical use, leading to a higher likelihood of diversion, abuse, and related harm.
  3. Long-Term Health Considerations: Some of these medications can have significant negative effects on physical and mental health when used over extended periods.
  4. Safer Alternatives: In many cases, there are safer and equally effective alternatives available that pose fewer risks to the patient.

By avoiding these medications, Reasons Health aims to promote safe, evidence-based care while reducing the risk of harm associated with addiction-prone or highly controlled substances. Instead, our approach focuses on empowering patients with other effective treatments.

In Memorandum

To all the members of our community, including my dearly cherished niece, who have tragically lost their lives to heroin, fentanyl, and other substances— The sun shines on them now. May their memories continue to inspire us to work tirelessly toward healing and prevention.
